Healing the Colonized Mind.png

The issues of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Antiracism desperately require our collective attention and personal efforts. To amend our national paradigm, we must invite everyone into the conversation. We do this by addressing the root cause of our social division: colonization and its effects on all our lives.

We all live and toil under a colonized system established by the actions of our ancestors and perpetuated by our compliance with the status quo. The deeply rooted values of the colonized society perpetuate an ongoing cultural dynamic where racialized identities thrive and one group benefits over others in all aspects of our social system.

These colonized values include individualism over community, consumption over conservation, doing over being, racial supremacy over cultural humility, and sole possession over collective participation. This 12-hour customized professional development program is designed to dismantle racialized identities and bring us back to our humanity through cultural healing practices. It teaches participants the root cause of racial inequities and provides practical tools to engage in productive conversations about colonized paradigms and their effects on our social institutions. Participants will leave prepared to effect change with new skills in personal reflection, self-regulation, and self-awareness, leading to healthy perspectives and dialogue.

This course meets WA SB 5044 and 5227 requirements, which instructs that Washington State public schools and higher education institutions provide diversity, equity, inclusion, and antiracism training to their staff, teachers, and administration.
