Evolution of AloHā - An Indigenous Framework of Community and Transformation

Aloha - A word with multiple and commonly understood meanings: Hello, goodbye, love. All of these definitions are true from a limited point of view. In The Evolution of Aloha, author Gerry Ebalaroza-Tunnell explores her discovery of a deeper meaning to Aloha by rediscovering the lost origin of the word. Alo Hā is the ancient Hawaiian greeting that translates to sharing the breath of life. Through this expanded understanding of this commonly used word, Gerry explores a deeper and far more enriching perspective for what her ancestors meant when greeting each other with Alo Hā while exploring her own upbringing in 1970 Honolulu, Hawaii.
